This is the main temple of all in the Bujang Valley. The temple was built 6th Century AD to 8th Century AD (however some scholars suggest the temple was built around 12th Century AD to 13th Century AD as a more accurate date). The architecture of its main structure comprises of Hindu Siva with Vimana and Mandapa.
The main structure of this Hindu monument are Vimana and Mandapa. Both divisions were built on the ground without any foundaitons; where the main material of construction is laterite brick. Among the artifacts found during the excavations are China's stoneware, pillar bases, samasutra, lingga, yoni etc. From these archaelogical findings, it can be concluded that this temple was built between 12th Century AD to 13th Century AD.
This Hindu influenced temple is believed to be built in 11th Century AD. Important findings of the archaelogy excavation on this site are platter with reliquary, weapons, precious stones and a standing Buddha statue made of bronze.
This temple has 8 sided stupa structure. Among the attraction during the excavation were the Buddha terracotta statue, an elephant, Boddhisatwa, a bronze statue, scorpion head, gold ring, earrings, Pallava writtings, iron nails and glass beads. The said archelogy findings proves that the Pengkalan Bujang temple is a Buddhist influenced temple built around 11th Century A.D. to 12th Century A.D.
These pieces of Prahu (a type of boat) on display are remains of Sagor Prahu, which were found during archaeological excavation works on several settlement along Sungai Muda (Muda river), the main route for transporting good since 3rd Century.
