first visited Hua Hin in 2006.
have been back there about four times now. (okie i must resort to blogging in singlish!)
my first trip was via train. wah.. arrived at 3-4am and the whole town was sleeping. okie neh mind. this one i will write another post when i find the old photos.
anyway this trip.. was more of a.. ‘show you around’ trip. brought my fellow traveling partner there.
it’s easy to navigate. rented a motorbike, allll the way straightttttttttt and yeah i will end up in cha-am <—- this is a gem. still quiet and much less touristy. but also mean less sites to visit, less beautiful beach, less english speaking…
one of my MUST go is Khao Takiab. South of Hua Hin town, along Thanon Petchkasem.
clean and beautiful beach. with the water coming up only to my chest even after i’ve walked… like… REALLY far…
occasionally and sadly, there will be dead jelly fish along the coast during low tide. tried rescuing one before. but it was already too dead…
photos were all taken via camera phone la. dont blame me for the bad photography. better photos all in the “hiding” memory cards. heh
LATEST UPDATES about HUA HIN: apparently the restaurants are no longer operating (most) due to the junta dunnu what dunnu what. there was a beach clean up recently. some are operating at another designated area nearby. will keep you updated when i get more news!
to get to Hua Hin: mini bus, local bus, trains, plane.
takes about 2-3 hours on mini bus and about 4 hours via train.
SO!!! Takeaway for this post!
Khao Takiab, เขา ตะเกียบ means Chopsticks Hill. Takiab means Chopsticks. pronounced (very closely) Kao2 大Giap (like you giap something that giap).
so next time you want chopsticks, tell them, Khor Takiab noi ka/krap.
